Description:
MTAM offers an 8 week, hands-on Marine Technology training course designed to prepare skilled marine service technicians. Through an on-the-job training program, trainees are placed as interns with Maryland's marine businesses, gaining real-world experience while building a direct pathway to full-time employment in the state's recreational boating industry.

Description:
Raising the Bar (RTB) is a free 6-week pre-apprenticeship program operated by the Construction Trades Workforce Initiative (CTWI) that prepares participants for careers in the union construction trades and direct entry into registered apprenticeship programs.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–3:00 PM and combines classroom instruction, hands-on learning, industry certifications, career readiness, and exposure to multiple union trades.
Participants receive training through the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3), including:
• Construction safety and OSHA-10
• First Aid & CPR
• Construction math
• Blueprint reading
• Trade awareness and career exploration
• Financial literacy and career navigation
• Job readiness and mock interviews
Participants also visit union apprenticeship training centers (JATCs), meet apprenticeship coordinators and contractors, and participate in hands-on activities and construction site tours.
Supportive services (such as $250 weekly stipends) and case management are provided throughout the program to help participants overcome barriers to employment and transition into long-term careers in the skilled trades.

In partnership with Community College of Baltimore County, Goodwill offers a twelve-week intensive program where individuals can obtain their Certified Property Maintenance Technician Certificate, as well as their EPA 608 Type 1 certification, OSHA 10 certification, and CPR/First Aid/AED certification. This career advancement opportunity requires in-person attendance three times a week. The in-class time for this course totals 100 hours and will include both traditional classroom and hands-on learning.
Daytime and evening cohorts are available, but do not run simultaneously. Day classes are from 1pm–4pm and evening classes from 6pm–9pm.

Phase 3 Training offers a four-month (approximately 16-week) workforce development program conducted four days a week, with three-hour sessions each day. Participants earn industry-recognized technical credentials through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), starting with the NCCER Core certification and progressing to a Level 1 certification in their chosen trade pathway. In addition, trainees gain practical, hands-on experience in Solar Installation, Electrical, or HVAC, equipping them for apprenticeship opportunities and long-term careers in the skilled trades.

The program is operated through a partnership between COWOC, Dreams Work, and Jacob’s Ladder, with a focus on creating equitable access to career opportunities, workforce readiness, leadership development, and long-term economic mobility within underserved communities. In addition to technical instruction, the program emphasizes professionalism, teamwork, problem-solving, and responsible use of emerging technologies such as AI and digital media tools.
Participants engage in interactive workshops, real-world learning experiences, and community-based programming designed to expose them to sustainable career pathways and connect them with supportive mentors, instructors, and industry professionals.

The program also includes practical hands-on activities, including a lineworker training component designed to simulate real-world job sites.
