Meeting Called to Order
Chair TJ Frazier called the business meeting of the Maryland Board for Professional Land Surveyors to order at 11:00 a.m.
Approval of May 06, 2026 Minutes
Members of the Board reviewed the meeting minutes for May 06, 2026. Motion (I) was made by Ms. Rollins, seconded by Mr. McLaughlin, and unanimously carried by the Board to approve the May meeting minutes with no corrections.

Old Business
Mr. Frazier shared a summary of the NCEES Northeast Zone meeting, in which jurisdictions comprising the Colonial States Board of Surveyors Registration discussed enhancing the collaboration for reciprocity and possible standardization of the CPC requirements among the Colonial States as a value of membership.
Ms. Nebre recalled the removal of the Storm Drain exam from the PS modules, indicating that one concept involved the Colonial States administering this exam.
Mr. Frazier expressed concerns regarding the ongoing issue of the fraudulent use of seals/stamps by professional licensees, primarily affecting professional engineers and architects at this time. Mr. Frazier concluded his report announcing the change to the format of the Professional Surveyors (PS) exam will go into effect on October 2027, and the PS/ Geospatial exam is likely to change in 2028.

Executive Director’s Report
Mr. Thomas began his report announcing to board members that authorization to travel to the NCEES Annual Business Meeting in Nevada may not be granted for all board members this year; Mr. Thomas stated he will contact individual Board members about their authorization to travel this year. Mr. Thomas also reported that registration for each state-specific exam can now be completed separately, following the move of the law exam to a computer-based platform.
Board Counsel Report
Mr. Venuti stated Mr. Thomas covered his report during the Executive Director’s report. Mr. Venuti had no further report to provide.
Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS)
Mr. Moyle announced the seminar being held at Chesapeake College on June 12, 2026; voting nominations from the previous MSS General Membership meeting will proceed on June 15, 2026 and must be submitted by July 15, 2026.
Review of Applications
There were 2 applications submitted for review. Mr. Quintanilla announced he will follow up with Mr. Frazier for his final review before reaching out to Mr. Price to provide the applicants’ response based on the Board’s decision.

Ms. Rollins reported the following:

Motion (II) was made by Mr. McLaughlin, seconded by Mr. Quintanilla, and unanimously carried by the Board to approve the amended recommendations for the Complaint Committee Report.
